Over the course of two and a half years devoted to over 5000 hours of research and studio work, Brett A. Jones presents a rendition of the Standard English pattern that is meticulous in its detail and truly captivating in its expression. The idea was never to change the playing card, but rather, to leave it as it is. Nothing needed to be added that wasn't already there. Everything had been assigned to its place long ago. All that needed to be done was to give them dimension and expression. Thus we see the same old time-honoured characters, but now with real-life faces and ornate medieval accessories.
